We confirm that the first edition of ‘El Salt de Tramuntana’, postponed on March 18 due to the damage caused in the Serra de Tramuntana by the storm ‘Juliette’, will be held on September 24 and will do so with a format different from the original. Specifically, runners will be able to choose between two distances to cover: one of 85.6 kilometres, which involves going around a closed circuit four times with a start and finish in Selva and ascent to Coll de sa Batalla, and another of 44.8 ( two laps of said circuit). Each test will end when the first runner of each distance completes the route, leaving the remaining runners to finish the started lap.
Registration to participate in the race is open on this official website https://saltdetramuntana.com/ and participants will receive a commemorative jersey for the race, as well as discount vouchers at restaurants participating in the event. In addition, the organization will establish two refreshment points, one at the top of Coll de Sa Batalla and another at the finish line for all participating runners. The Plaça Major de Selva will be the starting point of the race, on Sunday, September 24, starting at 9:00 a.m., and it is also planned that a day before, on Saturday, the 23rd, a welcome ceremony will be held for the participants in Caimari.
This new event in the Mallorca cycling calendar is sponsored by the Selva Town Hall, the Consell de Mallorca, through the Tramuntana Mallorca Consortium, the Government of the Balearic Islands and the Som Tramuntana area merchants association, with the objective of boosting the economy of the area and extending the tourist season.
