Unfortunately, we have to inform you that we were forced to postpone the race to September 24, due to the consequences caused by the storm ‘Juliette’ in the area where the event was to take place (the Coll de sa Batalla), which prevents us from guaranteeing full security. of the participants and the organization staff, according to the report issued today by the Local Police of Selva on the road that goes from Caimari to Lluc.
In said report, the decision to report negatively on the holding of the test is justified in five points:
“..1) The route is covered with trees with cut branches, in the shape of a spear and it could be the case that a runner could hit himself.
2) Throughout the race, there are many branches about to fall, and it could cause an accident to a participant.
3) The two lanes are not available, because the branches of the trees and the stones are found in both parts of the paved area, which means that the two lanes of traffic cannot be used.
4) There are areas of the asphalt that have cracks and the wheels of the bicycles could enter them, skid and fall.
5) In addition to the participants, both the volunteers, the organizers and security forces and bodies could be affected by some fall from branches or trees and lead to both personal and material accidents…”.
After the official postponement of the test to September 24, those registered can request a refund of the registration fee or keep it until the race is held on its new date through this official website https://saltdetramuntana.com/ . We will keep you informed of any new developments that occur and we hope to have your participation in September.
